RATTLERS RALLY PAST KENNESAW STATE, 63-58Florida A&M uses clutch foul shooting in 2nd half to edge past visiting OwlsTALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Dec. 13) - The Florida A&M Rattlers were near-perfect from the charity line in the second half to rally past visiting Kennesaw (Ga.) State, 63-58 in a men's college basketball game in Gaither Gymnasium Saturday night. FAMU (2-7) snapped a three-game losing skid Saturday, mainly by shooting 12 of 14 from the free throw line, in contrast to an 0 for 8 showing in the first half. Kennesaw didn't let go of the game without a fight, extending their 10-point halftime cushion to 12 points on three different occasions. McConnell's three-pointer with 12:38 remaining gave the Owls their last 12-point cushion, 48-36, before the Rattlers clawed their way back into contention. Twitty, with help from fellow senior Joe Ballard and sophomore Larry Jackson, provided most of the drive to get FAMU ahead, scoring 12 of the Rattlers' points in a furious 18-5 flurry during a 10-minute span. The second Twitty's two three-pointers during the surge, put FAMU ahead for the first time in the game, 54-53 with 2:27 left. The Rattlers then closed out the Owls with a 9-5 run capped by a Yannick Crowder slam dunk off a full court inbounds pass from Ballard with six seconds left.
